- When I think about the top players in this upcoming (2007) draft I would
rate them: 1. Calvin Johnson (wr); 2. Adrian Peterson (rb); and 3. Ted Ginn
(cb)*. Note the asterisk and the "cb" by
Ginn's name. In my opinion Ginn projects as an average wide receiver in
the NFL, I think that his receiving game will not translate well at the next
level. It is my opinion that if Ted Ginn were to play cornerback (his
natural position) while at Ohio State that his skills would open an argument
for him being the 3rd best player in this draft and that his skill set will
translate along the lines of DeAngelo Hall (N2FL's second rated corner
overall). Ginn has stated that he prefers the defensive side of the ball
and kudos should go out to him for being a team player at Ohio State and doing
what the coaches ask of him. As an NFL GM I would ask him point blank if
he would play cornerback for me and if his answer was a solid "yes" I'd pull
the trigger on him only if Calvin and Adrian were gone. Chris Gamble
played mostly receiver for Ohio State and has had a very solid career as a
corner in the NFL thus far. I would expect the same from Ginn.
