Aundre Dean (June 25, 2007), currently ranked #101
N2FL: At what age did you start playing football?
A.D.: I started playing ball in 5th grade.
N2FL: When and who was your first scholarship offer?
A.D.: Texas A&M was my first offer and it was a couple days after we lost to Cy Falls in the play-offs.
N2FL: How many scholarship offers do you currently have?
A.D.: I have 13 Scholarship offers now.
N2FL: What was your favorite college team growing up?
A.D.: Didn't have a favorite college team.
N2FL: Favorite NFL Team?
A.D.: Don't have a favorite NFL team.
N2FL: Do you try and idolize any specific player?
A.D.: No I don't idolize anybody. I just play my game and work hard to be the best I can be!
N2FL: Any particular reason for the jersey number?
A.D.: No, I just took whatever number that was left my freshman year when I moved up to Varsity, and it stuck.
N2FL: You originally committed to Texas A&M in February, before changing your mind and deciding on UCLA in April. Were there any other schools besides those two who had a legit shot at gaining your pledge?
A.D.: No, UT would have been nice but they showed no interest in me until after I committed to UCLA! I would have probably went to Nebraska if coach (Jay) Norvell would have approached me before he moved to UCLA!
N2FL: Why did you decide to end the process so early?
A.D.: I really ended it early and didn't get to experience it like I should have! I may possibly take an official to K-State or Nebraska just depends! But I really felt like UCLA touched base so I did what I thought was best!
N2FL: What were some of the considerations when choosing your school?
A.D.: Playing time, number of RBs, Good Education, and a Place that I felt 100% comfortable at on the field, off the field and coaching wise.
N2FL: What position would you prefer to play in college? Who is recruiting you to play where?
A.D.: I'm a RB and that's what I've been recruited to play. If I had to play Defense I'd want to be a safety though.
N2FL: Are there any schools who continue to recruit you despite your commitment?
A.D.: K-State, Nebraska and Texas A&M are really riding me hard, even now. But they respect me and my decision though.
N2FL: Who was your lead recruiter at UCLA?
A.D.: Lead recruiter was probably coach (Jay) Norvell. Coach (Gary) DeLoach liked me a lot too! Really the entire staff did!
N2FL: What are some of your playing strengths?
A.D.: Vision and combo of size and speed is probably my strengths.
N2FL: What are some things you would like to work on between now and college?
A.D.: Things to work on is pretty much unlimited! Speed, Quickness, Size, AGILITY and Hip Flexibility. Basically just everything so I can take my game to a completely different LEVEL when I get to college!
N2FL: How do you feel about Redshirting?
A.D.: I don't think I'm going to redshirt, at least that's what the coaches are telling me. But if it happens; I got to do what I got to do! I don't want to though, I'm going to work hard and go in sized up and ready to learn what I need to learn to get on the field!
N2FL: Do you have a major in mind?
A.D.: No, no major in mind.
N2FL: What are your goals for your senior season?
A.D.: My senior season goals are basically just to Win a State Championship, rush for 3000 yards and break every school record that was set at my school for my position! Mainly TO WIN A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! I didn't get a class ring because my state ring will take its place!
N2FL: What is the craziest recruiting "pitch" you have heard so far?
A.D.: Man I stay away from those outrageous coaches that try to get you in trouble! I'm not going to comment on that though.
N2FL: Have you communicated with any prospective recruits about attending UCLA with you?
A.D.: No, I haven't about my decision, but I have talked to (2003 Recruit) DE Bruce Davis about how he felt leaving home and going all the way to California. He was from Houston, and he lived actually like 20 minutes from me!
N2FL: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
A.D.: Probably the biggest influence is my family and my head coach Gary Joseph. They demand so much out of me, so I have no choice but to produce! I know in order to be successful, you have to set rules for yourself and you cant do what everybody else does! I'm still learning and I'm far from perfect but everyday I understand more and more.
