Gerell Robinson (June 17 & October 8, 2007), ranked #73

N2FL:  At what age did you start playing football?

G.R.:  At age 7

N2FL:  When and who was your first scholarship offer?

G.R.:  September 1 of my junior year, and Nebraska and Arizona on the same day

N2FL:  How many scholarship offers do you currently have?

G.R.:  18

N2FL:  What was your favorite college team growing up?

G.R.:  Texas

N2FL:  Favorite NFL Team?

G.R.:  Chargers

N2FL:  Do you try and idolize any specific player?

G.R.:  No, I don't idolize anyone.

N2FL:  Any particular reason for the jersey number?

G.R.:  Um, I always thought 8 was a nice even number.

N2FL:  You have given your verbal to Arizona, are there any schools still recruiting you despite your commitment?

G.R.:  Ha yeah, pretty much every other school who has offered and a few more that have not.

N2FL:  Are there any other schools you are keeping in consideration until February's signing day?

G.R.:  Yeah, there will be a couple.

N2FL:  Who has been recruiting you the hardest?

G.R.:  Florida or Oregon

N2FL:  Is there a school that hasn't offered you that you would like to see do so?

G.R.:  No not really, I'm satisfied with what I have but I thought it would be cool to get one from Texas, especially living there for the majority of my life.

N2FL:  Do you have an idea of who you would like to "officially visit"?

G.R.  Yeah there are a few schools I'll take trips to see.

N2FL:  What are some of the considerations when choosing your school?

G.R.:  Um, it just depends on where I feel most comfortable and where I feel the best place is for me to take the next step in being developed into a NFL mold player.

N2FL:  Being so multi-talented, what position would you prefer to play in college, and who is recruiting you to play where?

G.R.:  That's the thing, either or. I feel good at playing between QB and WR, it's a tough choice. I would say about half the schools want me to play QB and half the schools want me to play WR.

N2FL:  What are some of your playing strengths?

G.R.:  My size, speed, elusiveness, vision, and playmaking ability.

N2FL:  What are some things you would like to work on between now and college?

G.R.:  My strength for sure and my mental aspect of the game.

N2FL:  How do you feel about redshirting?

G.R.:  Um, if I'm playing QB then yes, I am all for it. But if it's WR, I'm ready to compete for a job. I feel QB's need a year of learning the system and able to adapt to the atmosphere of college.

N2FL:  Do you have a major in mind?

G.R.:  Business or Law

N2FL:  What are your goals for your senior season?

G.R.:  Win a state title again, first team All-American, and break a few records along the way.

N2FL:  Have you communicated with any prospective recruits about attending the same school?

G.R.:  Yes, I have with a few of the top players in the nation about attending the same school.

*Follow-up Interview after Decommitment to Arizona*

N2FL:  You committed to Arizona in late November of 2006, what made you change your mind and decide to open back up your recruitment?

G.R.:  I felt that me playing WR would be the best for my career in the long run.

N2FL:  What school seemed the most excited to find out you were "back on the market"?

G.R.:  Ha-ha um to be honest, a lot were really ecstatic over a days time. I fielded 23 calls - all from different schools and a few reporters.

N2FL:  With the ability to thrive at QB, WR and Safety, did position preference have anything to do with your decision?

G.R.:  Yeah it was the main reason I decided to open up my recruitment.

N2FL:  Is Arizona still in the mix for your signature come February?

G.R.:  Yeah there is a chance for that to happen. I like the offense they have in place. As a QB its a great fit, but as a WR I have to see what else is out there.

N2FL:  What schools are on your current short list now and have you thought of where you may take your 5 official visits?

G.R.:  The ones who kept in constant contact would be Oregon, Arizona State, Georgia Tech and Tennessee. As for other schools - everyone is pretty even and I have a few schools in mind for officials but nothing written in stone as of yet.

N2FL:  As a WR recruit is it important for a team you are considering to have a top young QB already on campus or at least have a blue-chip QB apart of the '08 class?

G.R.:  Yeah that would have a lot to do with where I go, knowing you have a solid QB who can give you the ball and be able to depend on him when you need to.

N2FL:  Would it be safe to assume then that schools like Nebraska (Blaine Gabbert), Florida (Tebow), Tennessee (Crompton), UCLA (Forcier/Nick Crissman) and USC (Sanchez/Corp) have an advantage because of that?

G.R.:  Yeah I would say that would intrigue me more into a University knowing that the school has stability at a crucial position such as QB.

N2FL:  Do you plan to now give more attention to the schools who continued to recruit you despite your commitment, than you will to schools who will only now jump back in the ring?

G.R.:  Yes I feel that's only right unless something happens to make me look more into another program.

N2FL:  Will you wait until February now to recommit to a school?

G.R.:  I won't wait that long, I am looking to find a good school that I want to go to by December or early January.
