Wayne Warren (August 29, 2007)
N2FL: At what age did you start playing football?
W.W.: I was seven when I started playing.
N2FL: What was your favorite college team growing up?
W.W.: My favorite college team was Florida State.
N2FL: Favorite NFL Team?
W.W.: Favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys.
N2FL: Do you try and idolize any specific player?
W.W.: I try to idolize Troy Smith cause I'm kind of in the same boat that he is in. Not very tall as a quarterback and is being recruited at more than one position - but I'm going to stick to my heart like he did. Look what he got for doing that.
N2FL: Any particular reason for the jersey number?
W.W.: My favorite QB of all time is Troy Aikman.
N2FL: When and who was your first scholarship offer?
W.W.: My first scholarship offer was early March from Stanford University.
N2FL: How many scholarship offers do you currently have?
W.W.: I have 4.
N2FL: Is there a school that hasn't offered you that you would like to see do so?
W.W.: I would like for Maryland, Virginia, Iowa, Rutgers and UConn.
N2FL: What are some of the considerations you have when deciding between schools?
W.W.: I know when I get to college, everybody is pretty much equal. Your going to have to compete. I want to get out of the eastern shore of Maryland and see the rest of the U.S. so I really have no problem with location. I'm looking for a school where I can get a good education and a guaranteed job if college ball is as far as I'm capable of going.
N2FL: Who are the schools currently on your list for consideration? Any leader(s)?
W.W.: All of my offers are in consideration. Iowa has a great program. I like how well Drew Tate did there so I'm kind of looking forward to that offer.
N2FL: Who is currently recruiting you the hardest?
W.W.: Well, Syracuse and Iowa are recruiting me the hardest. They are keeping a lot of contact through mail.
N2FL: What position would you prefer to play in college? Who is recruiting you to play where?
W.W.: I love being the leader and running the show at QB. Auburn, UConn, Stanford, Iowa, Maryland and Delaware are recruiting me for QB. Rutgers is recruiting me at DB. and Syracuse and Virginia want me as an Athlete.
N2FL: Have you thought about who you might want to "officially visit"?
W.W.: I know I want to officially visit Stanford, Auburn and I guess the rest could be the rest of the offers I pull in.
N2FL: What are some of your playing strengths?
W.W.: I have been told that I have a very strong arm. I'm good at making plays when the play breaks down.
N2FL: What are some things you would like to work on between now and college?
W.W.: I have good mechanics but I find trouble with using my arm to much. I need to use more of my body.
N2FL: How do you feel about Redshirting?
W.W.: I'm cool with redshirting, it gives me time to pick up the offense and keeping my eligibility.
N2FL: Do you have a major in mind?
W.W.: I want to major in probably becoming a physical therapist.
N2FL: What are your goals for your senior season?
W.W.: I want to first lead my team to another 11-0 season, that's the ultimate goal. I want these younger guys to be able to experience the same thing I did last year. Of course the State title is always in mind - that's the ultimate goal.
N2FL: What is the craziest recruiting "pitch" you have heard so far?
W.W.: We can get you a summer job if you come here, lol.
N2FL: Do you have a time frame as to when you would like to commit?
W.W.: I want to commit by mid season.
N2FL: Have you communicated with any prospective recruits about attending the same school?
W.W.: nah.... not really.
N2FL: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
W.W.: The biggest influence in my life are the tons of athletes in this area that have the chance to go D-1 but keep throwing their chances to the curb.
