N2FL:  At what age did you start playing football?
 
J.M.:  At age 6.
 
N2FL:  What was your favorite college team growing up?
 
J.M.:  Florida State
 
N2FL:  Have a favorite NFL Team?
 
J.M.:  Tampa Bay Buccaneers
 
N2FL:  Do you try and emulate any specific player?
 
J.M.:  No sir, I just be myself.
 
N2FL:  Any particular reason for the jersey number?
 
J.M.:  Whatever number my brother (Jamal Merrell) gets, I usually get the one lower 88-87.
 
N2FL:  Who was your first scholarship offer?
 
J.M.:  Rutgers
 
N2FL:  How many scholarship offers do you currently have?
 
J.M.:  I believe 6 or 7.
 
N2FL:  Is there a school that hasn't offered you that you would like to see do so?
 
J.M.:  No sir.
 
N2FL:  What are some of the considerations you have when deciding between schools?
 
J.M.:  The people that I will be around for the next 5-years of my life.
 
N2FL:  Who are the schools currently on your list for consideration? Any leader(s)?
 
J.M.:  No leaders.
 
N2FL:  What positions are you being recruited to play?
 
J.M.:  Defensive End and Outside Linebacker
 
N2FL:  What do you feel are some of your playing strengths?
 
J.M.:  My speed, aggressiveness, poise and knowledge of the game.
 
N2FL:  What are some things you would like to work on between now and college?
 
J.M.:  getting better all around body strength.
 
N2FL:  How do you feel about Redshirting?
 
J.M.:  its a lot like my dad and coach say "just enjoy the ride."
 
N2FL:  Do you have a major in mind?
 
J.M.:  Sports Management
 
N2FL:  What are your goals for your senior season?
 
J.M.:  winning another state championship and continuing to stay on top of school work.
 
N2FL:  Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
 
J.M.:  My father, Benny Merrell
