Kevin Revis (July 2, 2008)
N2FL: At what age did you start playing football?
K.R.: I started playing in the 7th grade. I was always begging my parents to let me play when I was little, but they made me wait and it turned out for the best.
N2FL: What was your favorite college team growing up?
K.R.: Tennessee Volunteers from birth
N2FL: Have a favorite NFL Team?
K.R.: Miami Dolphins
N2FL: Do you try and emulate any specific player?
K.R.: No one in particular.
N2FL: Any particular reason for the jersey number?
K.R.: Some people in my family had worn it and my high school coach at the time also wore it.
N2FL: When and who was your first scholarship offer?
K.R.: My first offer was from Coach Cutcliffe at Duke. It was May 8th.
N2FL: How many scholarship offers do you currently have?
K.R.: Up until I committed, I was only offered by Tennessee and Duke. But I called all my recruiting coaches and told them I was ending my recruitment for sure - so I don't at all expect any more.
N2FL: You committed to Tennessee in Mid-June, why did you decide to end your recruitment early?
K.R.: First and foremost because I prayed about it and I felt that is where God wanted me. Also because there is no where else in the country I would rather play.
N2FL: What were some of the considerations when choosing your school?
K.R.: I'm not worried about playing time or anything. I'm just going to come in and work my tail off just like I am now. The main reason is because I felt that is where God wanted me and I love the Vols.
N2FL: Are there any schools who continue to recruit you despite your commitment?
K.R.: I receive some letters, but the coaches pretty well know I am completely solid in my commitment.
N2FL: Who was your lead recruiter at Tennessee?
K.R.: DE coach Steve Caldwell, he did a great job.
N2FL: Despite your pledge to the Volunteers, will you take any "official visits" anywhere else?
K.R.: The only visit I need to take is to Tennessee.
N2FL: Was there another school(s) in consideration before you pulled the trigger on the Vols, and what was it about Tennessee that ultimately sold you on them?
K.R.: Yes sir, definitely. I wasn't expecting an offer from Tennessee so many other schools were in the picture at the time and I feel like some were very close to offering. But when Tennessee extended their offer it really didn't take much thinking. Other schools I was considering were Auburn, Duke, Furman, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Middle Tennessee State, Stanford and UCLA.
N2FL: Which Offensive Line positions are you being recruited to play?
K.R.: Maybe Guard, but most like me at Center.
N2FL: Where does Tennessee plan on playing you?
K.R.: Probably Center
N2FL: What do you view as some of your playing strengths?
K.R.: My footwork and my intensity. I love getting to the 2nd and 3rd levels and hitting people. Also my game smarts and leadership ability.
N2FL: What are some things you would like to work on between now and college?
K.R.: Pass pro a lot as well as not being overly aggressive and over-extending on blocks.
N2FL: How do you feel about Redshirting?
K.R.: Whatever my coaches want me to do, I'm all for.
N2FL: Do you have a major in mind?
K.R.: Probably Sport's Medicine but I am seriously considering coaching also.
N2FL: What are your goals for your senior season?
K.R.: The goal is always to win a state championship.
N2FL: What is the craziest recruiting "pitch" you have heard so far?
K.R.: I don't think I have heard too many crazy ones so far, lol.
N2FL: Have you communicated with any prospective recruits about attending Tennessee with you?
K.R.: I have not talked to many recruits yet since I am a fairly new commitment but I have talked to Toney Williams and Je'Ron Stokes on the internet and we are very excited about the class we have so far.
N2FL: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
K.R.: God! My parents also have been as well as my coaches. And in that order.
